Windmill

windmillThe windmill stands

Regal As ever

Waiting on the wind

For his next endeavor

Twisting East

Starting slow

Turning South

To watch it go

Day and night

They work together

The seasons change

As does the weather

Years have turned

The hard wood grey

He now squeaks and complains

When the wind wants to play

Like a man past his prime,

Tired and old

He struggles to make his limbs

Do as they’re told

But still, the windmill stands

Regal as ever

Waiting on the wind

For his next endeavor
